Today on the blog I’m sharing my top 10 favorite photos of 2018! After taking thousands and thousands of photos each year it’s always so difficult to narrow things down, but I do love getting to look back on these posts and see how my work and style has evolved over time. 2018 was a year of stepping out of my comfort zone business-wise, from opening my first studio to shooting events and starting to book weddings on my own. In addition to that I had so many beautiful seniors, families, and couples in front of my camera and as always, I loved every minute of it. Enjoy my favorites of the year:
This shot of Mary was my most liked Instagram post of 2018 which means you guys liked it just as much as I do! I actually edited this image a bit differently than my usual style but something about this photo in particular just called for it. She is such a natural beauty!
I normally go to Kings Park where Portsmouth gathers for prom photos but between the craziness and the limited space and time I’m never able to get photos that I really love. This time I decided to set up photos in a more relaxed setting and I’m glad I did because it led to this gorgeous shot of Jake and Alexis – they look like models!
Speaking of models, these three kiddos made my job so easy. I was able to capture so many images at their session – their final gallery had 99 photos! These were done at Sweet Berry Farm in Middletown and between the beautiful light and their coordinated outfits, everything came together so perfectly.
This was one of the first photoshoots I did in my studio early in 2018. I had a vision for fine art childrens portraits so I ordered a few dresses that matched what I had in mind. I knew Emma would be the perfect model for me! I recently ordered 5 more dresses that I will be using for outdoor portraits this spring so there will be more of these styled shoots to come in 2019 and I can’t wait!
This was my first senior photo session for the Class of 2019 and it was the best way to kick off the year. Erin’s session was done on the beach she grew up at in Cape Cod, MA and it was so much fun to shoot somewhere new!
Another Photo Day at Stage Door Dance! This is always such a fun time of the year. It’s a crazy busy few days of shooting and non-stop editing but I love getting to photograph girls of all different ages dressed up in their costumes. We always get the cutest photos and some cool shots like this!
This perfect wedding!! This is a shot of Brady and Michaelah during their first dance at the Five Bridge Inn. Something about this photo I just love, especially in black and white.
I had to include another from Brady and Michaelah’s wedding because this was just toooo cute not to include. I remember seeing this one on the back of my camera and instantly obsessing over it – Carter is just the cutest boy!
This is a shot from one of my product shoots with Mandarine Boutique who I have been working with this year. This was something fairly new to me in 2018 and I’ve learned so much! It’s a lot different than a regular portrait session but I always have so much fun with it.
I don’t think Amanda could take a bad picture if she tried! This background is a little corner area at Sandy Point which doesn’t look like it would make the best backdrop in person but I always love how it turns out in photos.
And there you have it! My top 10 of 2018. I can’t wait to find out what 2019 has in store!
