Senior Picture Locations – Sandy Point Beach

Living on Aquidneck Island and being surrounded by the most beautiful locations, it can be hard to choose which spot to have your senior pictures taken at. Do you want to be photographed on the beach or out in a field? Maybe a mix of both? I always send a list of my favorite locations out to my seniors, but I wanted to take that a step further and actually show photos from past sessions so you can really get a feel for what you’ll get from each location. Today I am sharing about Sandy Point Beach in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. This beach is another perfect option if you are looking for a mix of beach and water as well as a grassy field. The portraits I take in the field area always turn out to be some of my favorites. It tends to be less windy at this beach and the light is always gorgeous. It’s nice to work with because there is a good amount of shaded area to use when the sun is still too bright. There is also an area of rocks that make for a cool background to switch things up, which is something you don’t get at 3rd Beach. Sandy Point is much smaller than the other beaches and on hot days people tend to stay into the evening. I have always had plenty of space to work with, but just keep in mind that there could be more people around.
